Compilation of some of the footage from a recent trip to Nepal for BBC World Service Trust, filming material for a variety of spots and features to air on TV & Web.
BBC World Service Trust is soon to become BBC Media Action, and their goal is to transform lives through media : both through training journalists and empowering people through using media to spread information.
All these shoots were done very much “on-the-fly”, so the challenge was to take the kind of timeframe you tend to have with news and do something more interesting.
The shoot in the hospital was in an actual birthing room so we could have been kicked out at any time if someone had gone into labour! The reason there are no people in the shots will become apparent when they’re in the final spot.
Kit was quite lightweight, 2x7D bodies, 3 main lenses : Canon L 24-105 f4, Nikon AI 50 f1.4 (old manual), Tokina 11-16 f2.8. Kata BP502 backpack. Miller DS10 Tripod, Gidetrack Shooter 50cm slider. Beachtek DXA-SLR audio adaptor, Rode VideoMic. LCW Vari-ND fader.
