Player Profile: Erick Lindgren

Erick Lindgren brings his naturally competitive nature from playing sports in high school to playing at the Poker tables. Born on August 11, 1976 and raised in the small mountain town of Burney, California, Lindgren excelled in basketball and football. He was an all league quarterback and MVP of his league as a basketball shooting guard.

Lindgren attended Butte Junior College but did not graduate since he knew at a young age that his future lay in gambling. Before becoming a professional Poker player, Erick put in some time as a casino prop player and also worked as a Blackjack dealer.

Erick’s personal motto is “Play to win, not to survive.”

A positive thinker, Erick Lindgren is serious about his Poker career and works on improving his game every day. He either spends his time playing or in studying videos showing the style of his Poker playing colleagues. Erick considers Gus Hansen, Daniel Negreamu and Phil Ivey to be his toughest opponents due to the aggressiveness of their style and their knowledge of the game.

Having made multiple final tables in the world’s top tournaments, he was also named World Poker Tour Player of the Year for the WPT’s second season with a win and two final tables.
